Efficient storage logistics for more than 25,000 items 

Fergo Armaturen GmbH based in Neuss is an internationally recognized manufacturer and supplier of high-quality industrial valves and control technology. Customers from the chemical, drinking water, biogas, food, and beverage industries appreciate the wide range of products, high availability, and fast delivery service. With more than 25,000 items to be stored, structured and efficient organization of its storage facilities is critical for Fergo. Especially when orders are to be picked on the same day for next-day delivery to customers.

Additional space without remodeling

The available storage space at the company’s location in a rented commercial warehouse was already operating at full capacity due to steady growth. In order to free up additional storage capacity, Fergo opted for a vertical solution with two Hänel Lean-Lifts® at a height each of just under six meters.

Thanks to the compact design and use of the full floor-to-ceiling height, valuable space was gained without making any structural changes. This was aided by the integrated Hänel space-saving pitch, which enables especially high storage density and optimal use of the available capacity.

Fast order picking in the distribution warehouse

The two Hänel Lean-Lifts® are a key element of Fergo’s order picking and distribution warehouse. The storage container with the requested item is precisely located by the MP 14 N controller and automatically transported to the access point.

The Hänel Pick-o-Light® Vario shows the exact position of the item by marking it with a LED light spot directly at the container, thus ensuring fast, accurate retrieval with direct visual reference.

Parallel use of both lifts means that items are efficiently picked and delivery times are further minimized.

Ergonomic, secure, and user friendly

By delivering the goods directly to the user, all items are made available at an ergonomic retrieval height. This reduces walking distances and eases the burden on employees.

The MP 14 N terminal controls the process based on access code management, ensuring that only authorized users can access the items. At the same time, consistent documentation of all stock movements creates maximum transparency in the system.
