Hänel Multi-Space® HSP –

High-speed-picking for maximum performance

At LogiMAT 2026, Hänel presented the new design study for the Hänel Multi-Space® HSP to a global audience for the first time

Hänel’s trade fair highlight this year is an advanced version of the proven Hänel Multi-Space® 3-axis storage system, specifically designed for applications that require maximum picking performance. The version of the Hänel Multi-Space® HSP showcased at the trade fair is designed for efficient picking from 600 storage boxes and at the same time demonstrates the significant potential of future versions with even greater storage capacity. The system can play to its full strengths especially in areas with high order density, such as in e-commerce distribution centers or in small-parts logistics.

Optimal dynamics with the Hänel Multi-Space® HSP 3-axis storage system

At the heart of the system is an extractor, which accesses each storage box individually. The system groups four storage locations together in each instance based on optimized routing and transports them to the user in the shortest possible time. Thanks to movement along three axes, a three-dimensional access system is created with exceptionally short access times and very high throughput.

Continuous order picking at two access points

The two adjacent access points significantly increase picking performance: while orders are picked at the first access point, the Hänel lift provides the next four boxes at the second access point, thus minimizing access and provisioning times. Each storage box corresponds to an order item in the case of job-specific order picking.

This means that the user can work continuously at both access points, alternating between them. Because the boxes are tilted slightly forward, this ensures the best possible view and enables ergonomic access.

High storage capacity in the proven Hänel system – a new concept

The unique Hänel Profile Wall® in the Multi-Space® enables a compact design while offering a high load-bearing capacity at the same time. This robust design means that large storage towers with thousands of storage locations are also possible. The system therefore offers enormous space savings in addition to fast access times and maximum picking performance. Moreover, the Multi-Space® HSP – like all Hänel systems – can be effortlessly integrated into the most varied IT environments.

Design study for future high-speed applications

The design study presented at LogiMAT 2026 highlights future applications in the field of high-speed order picking and also makes a strong visual statement in the new Hänel Ruby Red.

The Hänel Multi-Space® HSP impressively demonstrates how automated storage technology can be further developed for applications that require maximum picking performance and optimal efficiency.
